WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL EXERCISE

   In fact, every physical work is an exercise. But exercise and sports are two separate concepts. The sport involves struggle, score and compelling the body. This can be done up to a certain age. Exercise is done in order to use the body at a quality level. Good quality means to being able to use the body without needing any equipment; no matter what age you are. For example, if you need to use a cane to walk, you cannot use your body at an optimal level. This situation, if not occurred because of a serious accident, happens due to your choices. These choices are; inactivity and wrong exercise methods. Exercises based on the same system cannot help us to use our deep muscular system efficiently. For this, a combination of different working methods, called ‘functional’, must be used.

   Yoga asanas have a systematic system that operates the body in three dimensions. Kinesiologically, it helps the body to use at an optimum level. Therefore, being able to use asanas in different variations with the appropriate equipment also means performing functional training. At this point, it is very important to know the anatomical structure of the body. The correct use of agonist, synergist and antagonist muscle working principles allows us to have a quality body regardless of age.
